Mini Monitor will not output picture

PostFri Apr 18, 2014 7:05 pm

I have an UltraStudio mini monitor. It is recognized be the System Profiler, but it isn't recognized in System Preferences. Resolve and FCPX will not pick it up either.

I have tried installing/uninstalling various versions of the driver, always using the uninstaller that goes with the version, but I still can't get a picture. This unit used to work, but it has sat on the shelf for about a year.

Any ideas?

That does sound odd. Have you tried using another Thunderbolt cable by chance? It could possibly be a faulty/bad cable and would be the first step I would take to see if it's the actual product or somewhere in between.

Yes, I did swap the cable for a new one, but still no dice. Any other ideas?

I can't imagine that it would be from not being used for awhile. That being said, could it have been dropped or have a loose connection?

I don't think it has been dropped, and I checked the cables. It doesn't have any signs of physical damage. Does the firmware appear to be up-to-date from the screenshot?

I don't see any image posted here but the device would prompt you to update the firmware when it's connected to the computer. Make sure you download the newest drivers from our support page and try plugging it in again and see if you get that prompt.
