Meida Composer 7 and Desktop 10.1 - GLITCHY

PostSun Apr 13, 2014 6:22 pm

Using Media Composer 7.03 on Mountain Lion 10.9.1 with the Intensity Extreme is extremely glitchy. Trimming and playback result in blinking client monitor, blinking on and off each frame that you trim or every time you start and stop playback

Desktop video 9.9.3 run perfectly.

Please advise!

I'm also seeing this with my system and the new Mac Pro. We need an answer for this, I've seen it on two of the new Mac Pros on 10.9.2 and Avid 7.0.3

Same issue here with OS 10.8.5 and Desktop Video 10.1
Had to downgrade to Desktop Video 9.9.3 to remove the black frame in Avid Media Composer 7.0.3.

Also had the issue with UltraStudio MiniMonitor with an iMac.

I cannot get video to play more than a couple frames before it hangs in Media Composer 7.04.

Tried multiple windows systems with several different Decklink Products.

We're using Media Composer 7.0.4 and Desktop Video 10.1.1 with Intensity Extreme on Mavericks.

For those that have video freezing, we've discovered that you need to make sure the Desktop Video preferences are set to match the MC7 project format. You also need to change the setting in the System Preferences Blackmagic pane. Once the settings are changed, the Intensity box needs to go through a power cycle before booting Avid. The easiest way is to just reboot the mac.

Our issue is that MC7 freezes when we try to use audio scrub or title tool, unless we de-activate the hardware first. Has anyone run into that issue?

For those that have downgraded to Desktop Video to 9.9.3, has that solved problems or just changed the problems?

This is the Mac forum, so you really should have posted this in the Windows forum.
Have you updated to the 10.1.1 drivers as we found they fix a lot of problems with MC 7.0.4 on the PC
