Another 2010...

PostMon Apr 14, 2014 1:29 am

I'm running a Mac Pro Mid 2010 10.9.2 32GB RAM
NVIDIA Quadro 4000 CUDA 5.5.47
RED ROCKET 1.4.36/1.1.17.3
Resolve Full 10.1.4.

My first issue was it wouldn't recognize my ROCKET card.
Finally fixed with the firmware (odd it took a few tries to install this) update.
Now when I load an XML (a few R3D clips for testing)project you will see this weird screen anomaly at the top part of the viewer if only press the play button. The software crashes after that occurs.
I can scrub frame to frame but at playback it occurs and then bam.
Now the stupid part is that its inconsistent.
I've had this issue with both Premiere and FCPX XML.
Trying screen grab the anomaly but disappears when paused.

Are you trying full res premium debayer. my guess is the GPU is running out of resources. Q4000 is pretty out of date now.

Thanks Peter.

Im not sure, I do believe Half and how is that the Quadro 4000 not be able to handle it now when it did before. Also I have the ROCKET installed and was working in the past with Resolve 9 in this current hardware config.

Im curious with that statement that the Quadro 4000 is out of date now when just a year ago it was fine.
Was there new code written in OS X and Resolve of late that would put our over a dozen Quadro 4000 loaded Mac Pro's?
I know that our CUBIX setup in the studio is still at v9 Resolve, are now sol as soon as we move that to v10/11?
Please clarify for we have a **** load of Quadro 4000s being utilized by Adobe apps.

My 2010 is basically useless with Resolve.
Constantly crashes during scrubbing in Edit and Color.
Running Resolve 10.1.4 on Mac Pro 5, 1 32GB RAM, OS X 10.9.2 with Quadro 4000 and RED ROCKET.
Projects are 4K UHD and all run fine on FCPX 10.1.1, Premiere Pro CC and Avid MC 7.x (AMA) as well as REDCINE-X Pro.
Footies are on fast SAS drives and again this stuff worked in the past.
Tempted to replace system drive with an older OS and go back to 2013 versions of above apps.

What gives?
