Resolve 11 Tracking Issue

PostThu Sep 25, 2014 3:25 pm

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone has this issue/can help?

Some issues with tracking:

Issue when tracking normal power window, where it just won't track. Have to press multiple times for it to track, or click on another node/scene and back to the node to get it to track. Also, keyframes in the tracker are not interpolating.

This doesn't happen all the time, either. But enough that it's taking up session time.

As a workaround: go to the end of the shot and track backwards, and see if that works.

11.1.3 did not provide a fix for this issue for me. Tracking is the worst it has ever been. It tracks for a few frames and stops. Direction doesn't matter. Even the simplest of tracks and with plain old ProRes 422 from the BMCC, which shouldn't be causing any problems at all. Such as shame as tracking used to work perfectly 99% of the time, even on tough to track clips.
I'm on a 2013 Mac Pro, D700, 32GB Ram.

Upgrades to Yosemite and the latest Resolve version (to this date) have fixed this issue. I found it across the board with the new MacPros running Mavericks and 11.0 and 11.1 Resolve.

Also, I have found issues with drives hooked up to MacPros on USB 3.0 (usually with heavy debayer, but not limited to); the graphics cards will appear to be going crazy (turning bright, strange colors) and Resolve will need a reboot. This happens intermittently. Have yet to encounter it in latest Resolve versions.

I have to say, it was pretty awful that this went so far to RL testing, when it was working fine in v10. But I guess this is why some places are still using v9, and to wait a while before updating.
