Mystery 'unhandled id' messages from Blackmagic driver

PostWed Feb 25, 2015 4:20 pm

Hello all,

we're having a problem where video output using the Decklink SDK has stopped working. This started happening intermittently last week, and upgrading the Blackmagic drivers to the latest version (10.3.7) seems to have broken it completely.

From the app's point of view everything seems to be working as before, there are no errors returned by the calls to the SDK... But looking at the OS X console output, there's a bunch of messages like this:

Code: Select all
24/02/2015 8:09:33.000 pm    kernel[0]    [93023] BlackmagicIO: UserClientClass::sendMessage(): unhandled id='galf'
24/02/2015 8:09:36.000 pm    kernel[0]    [95862] BlackmagicIO: UserClientClass::sendMessage(): unhandled id='aoff'
24/02/2015 8:09:36.000 pm    kernel[0]    [95862] BlackmagicIO: UserClientClass::sendMessage(): unhandled id='abon'
24/02/2015 8:09:36.000 pm    kernel[0]    [95862] BlackmagicIO: UserClientClass::sendMessage(): unhandled id='galf'

Would anyone have an idea what these could mean?

Should we just get the hardware replaced? (It's an UltraStudio 4K.)
