Windows and Desktop Video 10.4 Drivers

PostMon May 11, 2015 7:21 pm

One of our users reported an issue to us where several display modes were not showing up as available on his DeckLink 4k Extreme 12G on Windows with the DesktopVideo 10.4. (He's using Windows 8). 1080p modes above 30fps do not show up as available. 2K modes above 25fps do not show up as available. No 4K UHD nor DCI modes show up as available.

I got on a Windows 7 box, plugged in our DeckLink 4K Extreme, installed the DesktopVideo 10.4 and could easily recreate the issue. We weren't using the 10.4 SDK yet, but upgrading to 10.4 showed no difference. None of those modes are displaying. Calls to IDeckLinkOutput->DoesSupportVideoMode() returns bmdDisplayModeNotSupported for 10-bit RGB, and 8-Bit BGRA.

The strange part is that installing DesktopVideo 10.3.7, all the modes show up fine, and everything works fine.

I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this issue.

Edit: Issue only affects 10-bit RGB, and 8-bit BGRA.

Yes, same issues.

There are other too. It also looks like even 10.3.7 loses Intensity Pro board and picks it up only with reboot.
