Getting SDI-Subtitles with ffmpeg

PostMon Oct 05, 2015 8:57 am

Hello everyone,

i'm workin on a project where we want to livestream one TV-Program with MPEG-DASH. There for we need seperate subtitles in EBU-TT and in my opinion it would be really nice to get the live-subtitles over the HD-SDI, were the source signal comes from.

Main question at first, ffmpeg with decklink input device support needs the Decklink SDK. Does it mean there is full SDK support with alle APIs in ffmpeg or just the few options listet in the ffmpeg Documentation?
And if there is full support, how to use it in ffmpeg?

We want to use the Decklink Duo. Would the card support passing through the SMPTE 2031 lines to decode it anywhere in general? And how could i export the SMPTE 2031 content?

Bit thanks for your support,
Florian
