Intensity 4k Linux problem

PostWed Dec 14, 2016 9:51 pm

I had been using the Intensity Pro 4K with Xubuntu 16.04 for some
time and it was working well. I upgraded to 16.10 and it stopped working.
It shows up when I do lspci as "02:00.0 Multimedia video controller:
Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro 4K", but when I run Desktop Video Setup is
says no desktop devices detected. It also doesn't show up in OBS,
MediaExpress loads 12k into memory and never shows a screen.
I have tried completely removing and rebooting and then reinstalling with both 10.8 and
10.8.4 versions. All seem to install and uninstall without errors.
Running 'BlackmagicFirmwareUpdater status' I get 'Segmentation fault'
Looking in syslog I find;
blackmagic_io: loading out-of-tree module taints kernel.
blackmagic_io: module license 'Proprietary' taints kernel.
blackmagic_io: module verification failed: signature and/or required key
missing - tainting kernel

Is there another driver that it isn't loading?
I would like to know if you guys have any suggestions and if you need any
more info I will provide it.

Edit update: Tried it with older 4.4 kernel instead of the 4.8 kernel and still the same thing.

This weekend I am going to try removing the software and the hardware completely rebooting, shutting down reinstalling the card in a different slot, booting and reinstalling the software.
If that doesn't work I am going to try installing a fresh copy of 16.10 and installing the software there and see if that works.
Still looking for any other thoughts on the issue.

Tried the uninstall software and hardware and place in a different pcie slot and reinstall software to get the same result. My next attempt will be to a fresh install of 16.10 on a different drive and install the software there.
Still looking for other suggestions.

Tried it with a fresh install of 16.10 and get the same results. Going to try a fresh 16.04 that I know worked before, but I am now wondering if it could be a bad card.
