BlackMagic Hyperdeck Ethernet Protocol Version

It says Version 1.8

My Hyperdeck returns:
protocol version: 1.5

so I tried to update the firmware to Version 1.8

so i installed latest HyperDeck 5.1
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/suppor ... 80/Windows

it detects my Hyperdeck but does not prompt for updating the firmware.

What am i doing wrong?

Then i guess you have an older Hyperdeck. Not all updates install on all hyperdecks. ;)

While BMD works with an unified update for all hyperdecks. If you have a Hyperdeck (old series up to 1,5G) it will probabbly never update beyond that version 1.5 anymore. While the newer hyperdecks get more functions and new Firmware updates. ;)
