How to use Micro Studio Camera 4K as a machine vision camera

PostTue Dec 05, 2017 6:47 pm

I don't see much information online about how I can use the Micro Studio Camera 4K as a machine vision camera. I want to know if there is any SDK or API available so that I can grab frames with a line of code (or something similar). I haven't worked with HD-SDI cameras before, do I need any other cables hooked up to be able to grab frames (just the image data, I don't need audio) from the camera? What hardware do I need to connect the camera to my Windows/Linux PC? I tried finding this information in the user manual available online for this camera but I couldn't.

I greatly appreciate any help offered. Thank you.

You will need a capture card. For this purpose the Decklink Mini Recorder 4K works well. There is an SDK for the Blackmagic capture devices, I've seen it used with opencv before.
Ryzen 5800X3D
32GB DDR4-3600
RTX 3090
DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G
Resolve Studio 17.4.1
Windows 11 Pro 21H2

Thanks. I'm not sure why blackmagic doesn't make this information more apparent.
