What is the SMPTE format of 4K output?

PostThu Mar 29, 2018 3:24 pm

If I have a Blackmagic Decklink Mini Monitor 4K (6G) card and I am internally configuring the video output to be:

Code: Select all
pixel format:       bmdFormat10BitRGBXLE
display mode:       bmdMode4K2160p2997
video output flags: bmdVideoOutputFlagDefault

What SMPTE standard does this adhere to (if any?)

Basically, if I were to describe this output format to a receiver on the other end of my SDI coax cable, what SMPTE standard would I reference? And is it the same standard for the simultaneous HDMI output?

I'm a bit confused with the SMPTE documentation once I get beyond 1080p (SMPTE-292.)

Hi Jason,

The DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K adheres to SMPTE 2081 for 4K modes.
