There is no such a thing like single SDI connector which is quad.
This is a bit of a Marketing Fuckup of BMD.. in there
OLD marketing text with the card they mention
4 quadlink connections.. A lot of resellers have copied that text onto their webshop.. The BMD site has been adjusted now..
But in all.. The card just does 1 in 1 out.. But it can be 1x SD, HD, 3G, 6G, 12G, Duallink 3G / 6G or quadlink for four connections UHD. Still 1 in 1 out..
This card wont do 4 independent streams despite everyone is looking for that card!
It will do 4x 12G input in quadlink mode.. producing a (4 quadrant) 8K picture.
And you are able to trick it into a mode if you would sync up 4 12G outputs (like on a Atem Broadcast studio 4k were all aux and PGM outputs are in exact sync) You would be able to feed 4 different 12G images into the card..
But you need to write a software hook to cut the 8K picture into 4 streams again.
So what that means is that the card is able to receive 4x 12G connection.. But only if they are all the same resolution and framerate, and running in perfect sync.
Which means that there is no framebuffer for each link.. Probabbly they capture the data direct at the point of entry up to the PCI bus.. Without using any frame buffering.. But that part i'm really not sure.. PC hardware software isn't my area of expertise..
