SDK for gimbal manufacturers

PostTue Apr 16, 2019 11:20 pm

The maker of a gimbal I purchased is saying BMD has not released the API or SDK to allow them to control the camera from the gimbal
is that true?

What type of camera do you have and what is it you want to control?

Black Magic Pocket 4k
Almost all gimbal makers claim they have a model that can control focus, aperture start-stop, but none do that I am aware of.
I know there is an app you can use.
But that means to screens on your rig three if you count the one on the camera.
Accsoon said they were going to support the pocket, but are blaming Black Magic for not releasing the software.
Im trying to find out if that is true

This is correct. There is no SDK because USB control of the camera is currently not supported.

So recently Moza said they have control of the Pocket through the gimbal
how are they doing that?

I don't think they are doing via USB then, maybe over Bluetooth?

So do they plan to offer some other kit for control over USB or Some other port.
Or will bluetooth be how third parties do camera control?
