DevJW announce the HyperDeck Ethernet Controller

PostMon Jan 13, 2014 10:14 pm

DevJW have announced the HyperDeck Ethernet Controller, a Windows application that remotely controls Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio/Studio Pro devices.

The application includes the ability to:
- Go to a time code or specific clip;
- Control playback more finely with individual buttons for different speeds;
- Send simple commands to a HyperDeck such as play, stop and record;
- View the clips loaded on a HyperDeck;
- Record clips with a custom name.

This is good, however, i cant see anywhere on the site if it is able to control multiple hyperdecks at one time. If this was able to either link multiple Hyperdecks for simultaneous recording or to even allow seperate windows for different hyperdecks, that would be brilliant.

The application does not currently support the control of multiple hyperdecks simultaneously, however it is on the to do list for this year. It is possible to run multiple instances of the application though, meaning you can control multiple hyperdecks individually.

For those interested in a Mac version, it is currently under development and is scheduled for release late February/early March.

Hi

I'll try it the next days. After looking at your website, I had the following questions:

1.) Can I select a specific SSD for recording ?
2.) Can I see, on wich SSD a clip is located ?

Version 0.06 (posted tonight) supports switching slots i.e. SSDs. The application will record on to the active slot. The clips which are shown in the application are the clips from the active slot.

Use the contact page at http://devjw.com/Contact and say you would like to test the Mac version. I will then provide you with details of where to download it. It isn't quite ready for testing though, it should be in 1-2 weeks.

Eventually the application will be released on the Mac app store.
