Join Blackmagic Design, filmmaker and the creator of “The Blair Witch Project” Daniel Myrick and theColourSpace’s Founder and Head of Colour Juan Salvo on Saturday, January 23 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at the Filmmaker Lounge in the Treasure Mountain Inn for an in depth workshop on the tools and techniques essential to the independent filmmaker.
- Daniel Myrick will discuss how filmmakers can blend traditional filmmaking with modern aesthetics and state-of-the-art post production techniques. He will also discuss how he used Blackmagic Design cameras and software on his new film, “Under The Bed.” “Under the Bed” stars Hannah New and Beverly D’Angelo and is being produced in conjunction with Radar Pictures and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions. “The Blair Witch Project,” which Myrick co-directed and co-wrote with Eduardo Sanchez, was one of the highest grossing films of all time upon its release. Myrick also helped create one of the first online, episodic series in 2007, “The Strand.” He also is the CEO of Gearhead Pictures in Pasadena, California.
- Learn how to take advantage of DaVinci Resolve Studio as a master dailies tool. Professional colorist Juan Salvo will walk attendees through the process of using DaVinci Resolve Studio’s powerful Color Management features to quickly and easily match varied sources, making your dailies shine. Salvo is a colorist, post-super and technical director whose work has been seen on movie and television screens, in web browsers and on mobile devices worldwide. He regularly collaborates with a diverse clientele - acclaimed music video directors, world renowned artists, advertising creatives, filmmakers and documentarians - to enhance and finish their projects.
