I am pleased to announce the next feature film from writer/director Stephen David Brooks. FLYTRAP is going into production on December 5, 2013. The film stars Jeremy Crutchley(Black Sails, Sacred Elephant) http://jeremycrutchley.com/ and Ina-Alice Kopp (Departed Heroes) http://www.inaalicekopp.com . Co-starring is perennial Stephen David Brooks collaborator Billy 'Sly' Williams (Marriage Chronicles, Heads N TailZ).
FLYTRAP mixes sci-fi with dark humor to tell the story of a reserved English Astronomer (Jeremy Crutchley) who becomes ensnared by the mysterious Mary Ann (Ina-Alice Kopp) and her creepy and dangerous comrades. Held hostage in a twisted version of suburban San Fernando Valley, the Astronomer slowly uncovers the reason for his capture and the miserable fate that awaits him—and humanity—unless he acts.
The screenplay for FLYTRAP was developed in collaboration with Jeff Lyons of Story Geeks, using his "Rapid Story Development" methodology Rapid Story Development Page. The film will be shot by David R. Hardberger with the new Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera and will be one of the first features to use this cutting edge cinematic technology. Producers on the project are Tamara Sayiner and Brittany Mayti. Checkout the official FLYTRAP web site for more details. http://www.flytrapthemovie.net (under construction)
