ultra low light on a budget

PostSun Dec 29, 2013 12:16 pm

We just got a new contract for doing multicam streaming in a nightclub. This club is very dark, so we need camera's that can handle low light very well without becoming too noisy.

We need 3 or 4 camera's for a budget of 6000$ (4500 euro) that have either SDI out or a clean HDMI output.

Since we stream the whole night, we need something that can run stable for 7-8 hours and accepts an AC adapter or a dummy battery.

I've been looking at dslr's, since many of them do very well in low light, like for example the nikon d 5200, but the problem with many of them seems to be that they enter sleep mode after 30 minutes. I don't know if the D600 or 610 would have the same problem, can't find any info about in on the internet.

Another option would be camcorders like the canon legria HF G30, or similar models from panasonic or JVC.

Yet another option would be some PTZ cams like the JVC GV-LS2 . Anyone who ever used this cam in very low light conditions?

Anyone here who knows a cheap solution that outputs HD, is good in low light, has some manual control and is preferably looking a bit 'pro'?
