There are a ton of "dongles" available for capturing SD video from consumer VCRs etc. They typically have both Composite and S video inputs and stereo RCA audio inputs, with USB output to a computer. Some are available for less than $10.
Other than price, how much variation is there between these things? I suspect there's some standard chip that they all use, and that quality differences are minimal.
Anybody know what "raw" format they transmit to the host PC in? Are SDKs available to roll your own software?
Any information appreciated. I'm looking to source a volume buy to bundle with a possible product and obviously want best available price and quality.
