Dear Blackmagic,
Thanks SO much for making advanced cameras at revolutionary price points!
As you know, you don't always have the best relationship with your customers. This is due to taking a LONG LONG time to provide promised firmware uprgrades, but it's also due to your poor track record of communicating.
As you must know, we are all expecting a firmware upgrade by May 7th. This date comes from your mouths and not ours.
As production professionals, we all know that things go wrong. We have all had equipment break, and deadlines get moved. So be it.
My purpose in writing this letter is to give you a little friendly advice.
If you're not going to make the May 7th deadline, tell us. Tell us as early as possible. If you wait until the 6th or the 7th, and then miss it, people are going to be really mad, and you'll lose even more trust.
If on the other hand, you let us in on the information, with respect, we will certainly be more forgiving.
At this point you oughtta know whether you can hit May 7th or not.
If you can, then we all look forward to the long awaited fix, and will thank you profusely.
If you're not gonna make it, you should tell us, and the sooner before May 7th you do that, the better. It would also be good if in telling us you gave another hard date to aim for.
My two cents. Good luck!
