Hyperdeck - how to screen an already existing video file?

PostTue Feb 17, 2015 2:40 pm

Hi,

We recieved our new Blackmagic HyperDeck Shuttle 2 but are having
difficulties with the playback function and have not found the answer in
the manual. Perhaps you can help to provide us with a step by step guide?

We wish to save a film (Apple ProRes 422 1080 25fps) onto the hyperdeck to
play through a projector.

To be abe to play this already existing Quicktime file, do we have to make
a live recording or alternatively do we have to format the file with
blackmagic software in order to add it on the ssd, ready for playback?

I hope you can give us an answer. Thanks in advance.

The Shuttle2 only plays back in the format it records at. In this case ProRes HQ, 4.2.2 8/10-bit video. You might have to record the file back into the shuttle from your source. The Shuttle2 does not record or playback ProRes 4.2.2, only the Studio models can do that.

We have spoken to ppl from BM who confirmed we can play back an existing file through the hyper deck shuttle 2. They told us it matters where the file is exported from, so after exporting a new file from fcp we can now play the file on our TV, however we still can't manage to play it from our projector (Panasonic PT AE 6000) ??
