Using Main Power and Battery together on Ursa

PostWed Sep 28, 2016 3:49 pm

I have the original Ursa 4k. Recently I got the Blackmagic vmount plate fixed on it so as to operate with batteries as well, so my question is to know if while the camera is operating on battery, can i just plug the xlr power source from the mains as well before swapping a depleting battery out without disruption to the camera operations or worst causing a circuitry problem?
If this is possible will my vmount battery start to charge while fixed to the camera...if simultaneously connected to the mains?
I'm just being careful not to attempt the irreversible.
Your advice is appreciated.

When mains power is connected via the power 4-pin XLR, the UM will be powered from this connection, even with a battery connected. If you have mains power available, that is what I would use. Trying to plug a CLR in while the csmera is filming get or "Live" without moving it is very hard. The battery is Not charged while on the camera, a separate charger is required.
