Sorry, missed this. This forum really needs a notification system!
They work really well together. Since the BMMSC needs HDMI for menus and SDI for clean 4K, so being able to switch between both is super convenient. Recording quality is great and the interface is convenient.

The only downside to me, is that the Atomos can't (or couldn't last time I used it) act as LANC master, which means there's no way to remotely trigger recording since the BMMSC can't output a LANC signal. Since I was using the Micro Studio camera as B cam mostly, it was never a HUGE deal for me, since I wired the Atomos to my URSA's LANC port, so that triggering the URSA would also trigger the Shogun + BMMSC.

I submitted a feature request to Atomos and they were receptive, but I don't think it ever made it into the Shogun firmware.
