Suggestion: Introduce Feature Request Topic

PostThu Sep 06, 2012 12:04 pm

Apart from the suggestion in the header, here are some more.

Suggestion 2:
Do the same for Avid as your competition:
http://www.filmlight.ltd.uk/store/press ... -for-avid/

I'd love to see resolve deeply integrated in Avid, as well.
Please keep in mind, that in Symphony you can choose to apply colour corrections to tapes,
scr segment, prg track, etc. then update the entire timeline to automatically apply the same
correction to the relevant segments.
Deep integration of resolve into avid would mean exactly that, plus a second "colour correction mode" - button in the timeline, thus allowing the creation of a workspace in Avid for resolve.

Since Avid features flavors of 4:4:4 DnxHD and uncompressed 10bit Video, "resolve integration" could add serious production value, but w/o the cost or delay of round-tripping, and applying last minute editoral changes.

Keep in mind that AVX Plugins like BCC could co-exist with resolve grades in the same timeline.

The next logical step, this would be a real gamechanger, is to enable the avid "resolve effect"
to connect back to the RAW Camera Files.

Suggestion 2,5:
Make Resolve run on Avid DX Breakout Hardware.
Let's face it, we won't sell our boss on investing into BMD Hardware if we already got Avid DX.
But if its only a free software install, we might soon see resolve on our seats.
(Don't forget the ISIS support on both suggestions)

On the Avid community forums Avid has created a feature request forum specifically for users to post their feature requests.
This is a really great idea as it lets users focus those requests in one location.
There's even a rummor that Avid monitor that forum although all my brilliant ideas don't seem to ever appear in the final product releases...... (but that maybe because they are daft ideas...)

Since it is not avid's call to write a Resolve plug-in, I posted the request there.

That Avid is open towards that sort of enhancement, is shown by their plans to integrate Baselight.

Sorry my post wasn't suggesting it's better to post on the Avid forum only that BM should consider a similar forum here on the BM site.

Shouldn't that read Suggestion: Introduce Feature Request Forum? :-)

Same for Quantel.. after (I) we collected 120 posts with feature request and we spell them out finally they created a [feature requests for future developement] branch.

That was useful!
