Folks
For those of you who have been waiting for multichannel SDI to NDI on Ubuntu - take a look at the new Sienna NDI Source Multi for Ubuntu (with BMD Duo2, Quad2 etc).
This brand new app has a web browser user interface (so you can monitor and control from another computer), and provides really high performance conversion from SDI to NDI across 4,8 or 16 channels. In our tests, it uses less than 3 Xeon E5-2660 cores for 8 Channels. It also runs really well on i7 processors.
8 or 16 channels is totally possible with 2 x Quad2 cards in a reasonably powerful computer, even older Dual Xeon machines.
The web interface lets you rename NDI Sources on the fly and start and stop channels, as well as providing a slow-scan thumbnail.
