Charging V Mount batteries with a car plug ?

PostMon Aug 27, 2018 12:09 pm

Hey everyone !

I'll be travelling in Iceland next month, I'm looking for a way to use my V Mount Charger inside the car during long drives.

I'm thinking of using this: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B01HPF ... 0ETR&psc=1

But I have no idea if it's going to work well. My charger is this one: https://www.globalmediapro.com/dp/A00UX ... C-Adaptor/

Will it work ?

I can't see why it would work, the spec of the charger says:

Output Charging Terminals 1 and 2 : 16.8 V, 2.5 - 5 A meaning a wattage output of 84w. (16.8 X 5).

With the inverter outputting 200w, it's well within your limits. You'll be able to charge other things too at the same time.

Just be aware that the claimed output of things like this are only approximate, but you should be okay with that charger.

Hope that helps!

Yes, DC/AC inverters work best when running at around 80-percent of max load, not higher.
That said, you want one with a clean outout to run a computer controlled Li/Pro charger.
