I use small orange cones and yellow safety tape strung between them to block anyone from walking in front of my camera. Works 90-percent of the time.

Unfortunately we're living in a time where people are self obsessed. They're so wrapped up in their own li'll bubble they're not spacially aware.
You also have those that don't give a sh1t if ur there or not, exercising their 'right' to go where they want, stand where they want and do what they want.
and unfortunately no attempt by you will help prevent in that scenario.
Although, I'm quite fortunate here as I'm past 6'3 and of big stature, so most of my request to clear a path actually see's them follow suggestion

I had some interview settings in a music club a few years back. And once in a while people were trying to do tricks to get your attention. Like grabbing the butt or getting there arms around me from behind.. While keeping a steady shot to get the interview right..

Happy i'm not running in the field anymore with the cameras.. But engineering the multicam setups.
