BlackMagic Intensity Extreme to record PS3 gameplay.

PostThu Sep 13, 2012 2:33 pm

I have been searching the inter webs far and wide and have not come up with a clear answer as to how to go about recording PlayStation 3 gameplay on a BlackMagic Intensity Extreme. Due to HDCP protocol for all blu-ray players you cannot connect an HDMI cord form the PlayStation directly into the HDMI port of the blackmagic. Does any one have any info on how to bypass this...i know it can be recorded due to the endless number of PlayStation gameplay and commentary found on YouTube. My question is, how have they managed to do that?

You can use component output in HD from the PS3.

There are devices you can buy to circumvent HDCP, but we won't support them as they are not strictly legit. Nor will we suggest where you can find one.
