Blackmagic Media Express Dropping Frames

PostThu Aug 17, 2017 1:55 am

Hey,

I have been using the Media Express for about 6 months now, and I've been noticing a problem lately. I am running a camera to an ATEM Switcher, through HDMI to a Macbook Pro (Late 2012 model.)

I seem to be noticing that in the middle of capturing footage, every so often the video seems to get jittery, and drop well below 30 FPS.

Not sure if it's a faulty setting, or if it could be a computer issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you tried the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test tool? It may be that your storage is not fast enough to reliably capture in the format you're trying to use.
