Hi all,
I've recently invested in a Video Assist 4K and so far absolutely love it - great value for money as a directors monitor and as a shooting aid. Only 2 things I'm really confused by with it:
1) The focus zoom in is great quality, but why on earth can't I select which region of the screen that I want to punch in on? I have been using the URSA Mini 4.6k for about a year and love how the focus zoom works on that, just can't for the life of me work out why that system hasn't been implemented on the monitor. It's not that often that what I want to check the focus on is in the dead center of the shot... Is it expected that this may be updated via firmware or is there some limitation I'm missing? Have searched around the forums but can't find any recent mentions of this at all, and to me it seems like a massive issue with what should be a very simple solution.
2) This one is a bit more of a stretch, but has there ever been any discussion of allowing the VA to change the settings (aperture, shutter speed etc) on the Micro Cinema Camera? Seems like it should be possible, and as they are basically partner products made by the same company I'd imagine that there could be some interaction between the touchscreen interface and the cameras settings? Not actually sure if this is possible via HDMI, as I know it has limitations but would love to know if this is something that is possible/desired by other people using the same combination of equipment!
Would be great to get your opinions and any info I may have missed in my searches.
Cheers!
