UltraStudio Mini Recorder not connecting

Hello, I have an iMac 5k 2017 and Mac OS Sierra 10.13.6 and when I go to the dashboard the camera is not recognized by the system. The light doesn't even turn on when I plug in with the Thunderbolt.

I don't know what to do?

Are you using the Apple branded USB-C to Thunderbolt 1/2 adapter? Also, did you install the Desktop Video software from the support page of our website for the capture and playback devices? This will be required for the product to be detected and used by the computer/application.

I also have this problem, but I have a 2017 MBP with LED strip. The System Hardware Overview reports that the UltraStudio Recorder is connected, but none of the BLackMagic software recognises that it's there. There is also no light on the device. It is connected through an Apple thunderbolt to USBC adapter and an Apple Thunderbolt lead. Any suggestions?

What version of Desktop Video software do you have installed and what OSX is installed?

My MacBook is on OS 10:13:6 and all the BM software is up to date: The Desktop Video Setup is V10.11.2

Have you tried a different port on the computer as well as restarting the computer and checking that it is detected in Desktop Video Setup and in the Media Express devices dropdown menu?

I have tried the device in all the ports and it is recognised in “about this Mac” but not recognised by any of the BMD software. I did get a notification in ‘preferences/privacy’ to allow the software, which I ticked, but still nothing. I’ve tried rebooting, reinstalling software, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc, etc, etc!

It seems that it is a common problem with these products, but usually overcome. I’m concerned that my device may be faulty so I’m checking all the options before I return it.
