Has there been a change in the way the Samsung ssd is formatted in the 6.6 update for bm4k? Since updating and formatting my ssd via the camera, windows no longer assigns a drive letter to the device. It makes a sound when plugging it in but then no drive letter it shown.
Cheers,
Alex.

That's just a common Windows dumb behavior because of its ancient drive letter system.
You have to go into Diskmanagement. It will scan your drives and show you a list. There you will see that your SSD is there but got no drive letter assigned and therefore is not shown on the desktop.

Right-click the drive and select the Change Drive Letter and Paths option. Then assign a drive letter and your SSD will show up.

Other reason it is not shown: you have formatted to HFS+ in camera, which Windows can't read out of the box. There are tools to make it work:

Thanks for the reply. I know about the Assign drive letter thing but it is greyed our on the drive selected for the ssd. I haven’t changed the way I format the drive but it may have went to hfs+ on the fw upgrade. Will check and use the tools to get the data off.

Cheers,
Alex.

Yep, had formatted OSX rather than fat 32.
