Yes, It's usb 3.0 renesas.
Now I know that at HDD 7200 RPM i wont be able to record at high quality, but what i'm looking for right now, is to record below 720p HD. so i think 7200 RPM will be good for that,
all i want to know is what is the % of the shuttle to work with that laptop.
since im buying a laptop anyway. i want one that will work with the shuttle :p

Well, so far we've had the most sucess with that chipset. Make sure the drivers and firmware for it are updated.

This is still going to be highly format dependent. 720p59.94 Uncompressed 8bit is still 110MB/second, which one 7200 drive is not likely to be able to handle, at least not consistently. Though an SSD might. Compressed formats like MotionJPEG will be far better off on one drive.

This is still very hard to say. The system has an Ivy bridge chipset, which we've tested a desktop variant of this chipset and it seems to work quite well for USB3. But without actually testing the laptops to we simply can't say for sure.
