AAF Avid workflow with HyperDeck Shuttle?

PostFri Sep 13, 2013 3:12 pm

Thinking of getting a few HyperDeck Shuttles to record Avid MXFs, so I don't have to transcode them. Post needs an AAF file to go along with each "roll" (in this case it's the SSD that the HyperDeck records to). This is how they import their clips into their Unity system. Does the HyperDeck provide the .aaf file with the clips?

And if not, what would be a suggested workaround if I still wanted to use the HyperDeck Shuttles? Remember, the .aaf file is the key.

Thanks.

For instance when you render MXFs out of RedCineX PRO, it includes the AAF folder and the MXF folder.
When you render MXFs out of Resolve, you have to go back and opt to Generate New AAF...

I need to HyperDeck to be able to do the same. Create AAF. Does it do that?
