HyperDeck Shuttle + OCZ Vertex 4 = NOT GOOD

PostThu Oct 04, 2012 10:21 am

Hi folks,

Just a post to warn you to stay away from the OCZ Vertex 4 256Gb SSD's for recording on the HyperDeck Shuttle !

The Disk is stated to have good performances but there must be some incompatibility with the Indilinx controller because it gives cuted recording with droped frames, the max bandwith is not fully exploited.

Ordered a par of Kingston V200 240Gb, things should be fine with them.

Cheers,
Stéphane.

Hi, I can confirm what S.Blanchardon says.

OCZ stated best performance than Vertex3 but in real life Vertex4 doesn't work with HDS2. A lot of droped frames recordind DNxHD, so worst with uncompressed!!!!!!!

Generally, it's wise to stick with the list of recommended SSDs on our website. Some SSDs drop frames when capturing uncompressed 10-bit video. http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support ... lse&os=mac
