Hyperdeck Shuttle & Quicktime Files

PostMon Oct 15, 2012 9:59 am

Contemplating using a Shuttle to bring onlined programmes to a broadcaster rather than hire the uber-expensive Sony HDCAM SR deck and want to know if I create an uncompressed QT file of my entire sequence and drop it onto the SSD drive as a file will the Hyperdeck Shuttle play it back successfully, and will it retain the sequences timecode?

I do that all the time with my Hyperdeck Studio but as for timecode..... I will get back to you on that.

Ok here is the answer to your timecode query...

I just did a quick test on a file I created in FCP and exported to uncompressed.

It played fine on the Hyperdeck Studio with timecode starting at 00:00:00:00.

So I opened the file on the SSD in FCP and went to 'tools' -> 'timecode' and changed the 'source timecode' to start at 00:01:30:00 and then put it back in the Hyperdeck Studio.

It played with the new timecode so that is a way of setting a clip timecode.

I am assuming the 'Shuttle' works similar to the 'Studio'.

Any success playing a quicktime copied onto your Hyperdeck?
I've had no luck. I'm also trying to find a way to playback 5.1 audio from unit.
This would be so great for screening purposes.
