Intensity Pro and HD input signal

PostThu Oct 18, 2012 5:56 am

Hi there!

Good day!

We have a client that complained about his Intensity Pro that is not capturing an HD input signal. I tested the unit using Teranex 2D so that I can change the input video format going to the Intensity Pro. Using Media Express, I found out that I can capture all SD formats but not all HD signals. I can also capture HD 720 formats but when I tried to input HD 1080i50, I can see only black video on my Media Express. Every time I change my input video format, I also change the setting of Media Express preferences to match my input signal.

I would just like to ask why the input becomes black when I fed HD 1080i50? Does the Intensity Pro capable of capturing the said video format? Are there any settings that I still need to change in order to capture HD 1080i50?

Please advise.

Regards,

By the way, I forgot to mention that the client is using an HDMI connection to capture video signal.

1080i50 is certainly among supported modes!
Are you using similar material in your testing? No chance that the source content would be protected?
HDMI uses HDCP encryption and signal will go black if copy protected material is fed to a recording / digitizing device.

My input signal comes from Teranex 2D Processor and it's not content protected. I can actually capture all SD signals and even HD 720 formats but when I tried to input 1080i50, my Media Express becomes black.

Problem solved! I conducted a test on Windows 7 and I was able to capture 1080i50. I went back to my MacPro, installed a Lion software and I was able to capture 1080i50. I re-installed the 10.6.8 software that I previously used where I encountered the problem, and this time I can capture 1080i50 format. So it's an OS-related issue. I was just puzzled why it can capture the rest of the HD formats except for HD 1080i50. Anyway, I made it work again. Thanks for reading my post...
