HDMI panel needed for Decklink Studio, due to slot space

PostFri Oct 19, 2012 5:28 pm

I am looking at buying the Deck Link Studio, that has the 2nd Slot cover for the HDMI ports. My problem is that I already have 2 graphics card, a SATA card, and with the Deck Link card, all slots and cover ports will be used. Can I just unplug the HDMI plate, and just use the composite outs for now ?
And also, is the card full 10 Bit 4:4:4 on the SDI

Thanks,
Christian

The HDMI daughter card isn't required to get the card to function. So if you need to unplug it, the card will still work with the other inputs and outputs. If you ever needed the HDMI connection and didn't have the slot space on your system, you could open up your system's chassis and plug directly into the HDMI port on the back of the card. The daughter card essentially acts like a jumper to get you external access to the HDMI port that's built right onto the DeckLink Studio 2 card itself.
