making a background for the subtitles.. ?

hello
i want to create a simple semi transparent rectangle that will be behind the subtitles.
is there an explanation for how to make such thing?

i need it because there is no 'stroke' when it comes to my language which is hebrew....

would glad for assistance and sending love from israel!!

It would help if you tell which software you are using….
Intensity Shuttle, ATEM Mini, Video Assist 5"(mini USB), Hyperdeck ShuttleHD,Analog to SDI mini-converter, software: Davinci Resolve 15 on Sierra, Resolve 18 on Catalina. (Using Apple OS 32 & 64 bit on different MacBook Pro's
