New TV 4K No Headphone Jack?

New TV 4K No 3.5mm Headphone Jack? This was a real surprise. So how does one monitor audio input, say for streaming or recording?

If you are talking about using Resolve with the tv you can use the headphone output on the computer, or the headphone output on an external audio interface. If you mean just the tv maybe it supports Bluetooth headphones.

Hi there,

If you're talking about the ATEM Television Studio 4K8, then there are 3 distinct audio outputs:
Control Room output (2x 1/4 inch balanced output)
Studio Output (2x 1/4 inch balanced output)
5-pin XLR that can be used for both

All of these output can be used to listen to both the PGM output or any given input at a given time and can be used to listen to Talkback.
The 5 Pin xlr TB connector allows for a headset and mic for the director to talk to the camera operators.

Thanks,

Yes, ATEM TV 4K8. Thanks. So, it is just a converter/adapter we need to go 1/4in to 3.5 mm. Or is there more configuration on the ATEM that is needed? Looking at the manual it barely talks about any audio out configuration. Looking at the ATEM software control, I see the MIC1, XLR, RCA audio sliders, but no idea how those controls are mapped to the physical ports. Given we have only used ATEM mini, ATEM SDI Extreme ISO... it was just plug into the 3.5mm jack plug and play, but ATEM TV 4K8 needs a bit more configuration?

Unexpected absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack in the new 4K TV. Monitoring audio input for streaming or recording is crucial. Exploring alternative audio output options becomes essential for users.
