Hyperdeck Shuttle not recognised by new Utility software

Hi,
I just bought a HyperDeck Shuttle 2 and it seems I can only access it on my computer with the Utility software given on the DVD (v3.0.1) and the newer version from the BlackMagic website does not recognize the device and everything stays grayed out.
Anyone else with the same issue?

Hi Victor,

It seems strange that the newer version would not work. I don't think a lot, if anything, would have changed with how the software communicates with the HyperDeck.

Please do make sure that you remove the old application before installing the new one, either using Windows' Programs and Features section of Control Panel, or using the uninstaller included in the Mac install package.

I'm having the same problem. I just got my Hyperdeck shuttle 2 and I can't get it recognized by osx.
I'm on OS X 10.7.4

I tried the hyperdeck software v 3.5, 3.02, 3.01 and none of them worked. I keep getting the "no hyperdeck connected". Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It finally works.
I kept it plugged onto my computer with the older version of the software and suddenly if prompted me for a firmware update.
After the update the Hyperdeck was able to be recognized by the new software version.
Now all works perfectly.

[edit] Aslo I noticed that before the firmware update, none of the downloaded version of the software would recognize the deck even the 3.0.1 downloaded online, but the 3.0.1 on the dvd would work. after the firmware update fixed everything.
