blackmagic website doesn' work

PostThu Oct 25, 2012 10:17 am

Hello

I m in France, trying to download resolve since 2 days, but it's impossible. The website don't load the pages correctly. I tried in both safari and firefox.
It s a time out problem from blackmagic server.

Strangely, when i go directly on the forum webpage it works perfectly. But the other pages of the website (support mainly) are not working.

I already noticed that problem before, but not for so long.

Can I understand what's going on?
And how can I download the programs I need...

I m working with resolve 8, and got a issue with red files that obliges me to download 8.2.2 (with redcolor 3)
please help me, I have a due date...

thanks

I've had similar issues (From Australia), have tried multiple browsers, multiple computers, multiple OS. Seems to work better from Windows (just using IE). The main issue I have had has been on OSX 10.8.x with both Safari and Firefox. The weird thing is sometimes it does work perfectly. On the same machine downloaded desktop video but was unable to download resolve lite (and that was trying it at the same time in 2 browser windows). Tried lite on a different machine with no luck.

Have suggested in a different post that BM should prehaps look at cleaning up the support page where you can see what the latest version, manual and firmware are and download directly from that page. Currently a relatively complex process (and I do now with the number of products etc there is some necessity for complexity), but the support page, especially for newer users can be quite confusing.

Tried on Macbook Pro, Desktop PC: Win7 Pro, Laptop PC: Win7 Ultimate. Browsers: Safari, Mozilla, Chrome, Explorer. The "Support" is dead and some other pages on the site take a lot of time to load in.
Maybe they turned in the machines in the BMD Camera factory and it consumes too much server power?

I don't think, that it is a browser problem. I think, it it something with the server...

Not the first time this has happened. In the past I have seen someone post a direct link to various firmware downloads. It would be nice to have a "back door" to those assets.

But ... I agree. FIX THE WEB SITE please!

EDIT: although as of right now... It does seem to be fixed.

We've been seeing sporadic outages on the BMD website ever since IBC. It's especially problematic when you want to look up technical information. There are no data sheets in PDF form that we could download so the website is the only source.

i think the problem is url that changed in some time from blackmagic-design.com to blackmagicdesign.com

some service providers seem to know old one for some reasons.

this also may make web stuck
