Hi everyone, this is my first post here. Hope this is the right place for my question: will the Cintel film scanner have the 8mm and super8mm gates? When? Thanks for the attention.

Not sure if you looked at the info on the product page about the Cintel Scanner but the link below may have all the information you're seeking.

Really didn't find any answer about my question, I see at the moment only 35mm and 16mm gates are provided but nothing is said about smaller gauges. Any rumor:-)?

I'm sure there are plenty of rumors but those are exactly that. 8-)

If there are any changes, the site will be updated accordingly.

The thought of this has me drooling. Is there a rough schedule for more info to be released or even a rough idea of when we can expect this to be available for purchase?

Unfortunately, I do not know any further information at this time about it.

Hello, can you say anything about DaVinci Revival ? Not anymore in product page, will only be available with Cintel ?

Hello cpaire. Unfortunately, DaVinci Revival has gone End Of Life. The software base was quite old and not easily updated. While we cannot talk specifically about the future, there are some really nice features of both the Cintel Scanner and Resolve that can be used to correct film images.

Still no news? I think the flirtation period must be over by now, Blackmagic? I'm interested in the pin registration upgrades and the output capabilities of this scanner and I've had positive feedback from clients about getting UHD/4k scans done of their libraries. Please, please hurry :P

Can I bring a short 35mm or 16mm roll to the Burbank July 24 event for a test on the new scanner?

Thanks Jeff Goodman Producers Library (Stock Footage Archive)

Hi there Jeff,
Just wondering if you got to see the scanner in action and could offer an opinion on it so far?

We did have the Cintel Scanner at both of our BMD Days in Burbank and New York. The scanner was shown essentially the same as at NAB. As IBC (September 12-16) is coming up, I would expect to hear more detailed information on the Cintel Scanner.

Hi there Gary, do you know if the scanner be present and on show at this year's IBC too? There are a couple of conference sessions I'd like to attend, if I got to see the scanner in action it would be a very interesting IBC.

My understanding is there are plans for having one displayed at the show.

Was this displayed at the show? Surprised no one has talked about this... I notice it available for pre-order.

Hi guys!

8mm would be a must for the Cintel Blackmagic scanner !
I am still waiting to buy it once the 8mm gate is availabe.
I am doing hours and hours every year in 8mm but only
1-2hours in 16mm and nearly nothing in 35mm.
So please BMD consider to do an 8mm gate for the scanner!
