Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt with Google TV

PostWed Nov 07, 2012 3:53 am

I'm working on a Google TV app, and I'm trying to record interactions with a Logitech Revue Google TV device using an Intensity Shuttle for Thunderbolt. When I attempt to capture in Media Express, I am only getting a black screen in the recording. Based on other posts in this forum, I'm wondering if I could be running into an issue with HDCP. Does anybody know if the signal from a Logitech Revue is protected with HDCP?

Assuming HDCP is my problem, would a device like the Monoprice HDMI to Component converter address the issue? Unlike a playstation or xbox, the Logitech Revue only has HDMI output. According to the product description on monoprice.com, HDCP is supported by the converter.

I appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

It wouldn't be surprising if the Logitech box has HDCP. It's pretty standard for any such device, but it might be worth checking with Logitech to be sure.

I've never tested such a device, and of course I cannot condone circumventing HDCP, but if the converter does what it says it does, and it conforms to the same broadcast formats that the Intensity Shuttle supports, which it looks like it does, I suspect it should work fine.
