New Sandisk Extreme Pro SD cards

PostThu Sep 11, 2014 4:55 pm

...128GB, 256GB and a whopping 512GB! They priced the 512GB at $799 and Adorama has it for pre-order for $729 http://www.adorama.com/IDSDSDXPA512.html

Does anyone have any information if these would specifically work in the BMPCC? I would assume so, but assuming so in the past has resulted in cards not working and dropped frames.

Either way, this is exciting.

BMD CEO was quoted in the Sandisk article so assuming that they will be testing it on the BMPCC and could go in the approved list. We shall see.

However, at the price for the 512, I rather have a few 64 and possibly 1 or 2 128 or 1 256 than trust all of my data on 1 512. I wouldn't want to be in a situation where I have only a 512 and it fails on me. Yikes!

Cool. I have the 64GB but would love the 128gb for longer shooting. Hopefully it comes down in price a few months after release.

hi
to avoid creating multiple topics - will ask here

There are new cards from Sandisk

"SANDISK EXTREME PRO SD UHS-II CARD
Up to 300/260MB/s read/write speed, video speed U3"

Does BMPCC support them or the reader is designed for previous (95 MB/s) generation only?

Thank you in advance

We would suggest staying with the cards listed in the manual for use with the camera. Once other cards are tested and approved by us, we will update these lists accordingly.

The SanDisk UHS 2 cards are not supported on the BMPCC, which has an SD UHS1 card interface. So do not waste your money buying these for the Pocket camera. The SanDisk UHS 1 95MPS cards are the ones to get for the BMPCC.

Cheers

heh, it depends :-)

my target is to continue filming underwater. I'm not a pro, and i do not make any $$ by doing this. Taking into account price of underwater housing ... nearest product with better storage option (eg bmcc) would cost me 3 - 3.5 times more compared to bmpcc ...
