Hyperdeck Shuttle for an Xbox?

PostSat Nov 17, 2012 12:57 am

Hi,

This is my first post, so I guess hi again xD

Anyway, currently I have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro... It's great and I absolutely love the quality. However, I no longer have a PC, so can no longer use the card. I have a Mid 2010 iMac, so the only connectivity I really have is USB 2.0.

My question is, would this work with an Xbox 360? As in HDMI in from the Xbox, to the Hyperdeck, then out from the huperdeck to my monitor. I can't see why not, but I dot want to spend £300 (after SSD etc) for it to not work...

Also, would there be much lag? There was minimal lag using the intensity pro, but this just seems too good to be true.

I am very aware that this is a very expensive way of capturing footage from an Xbox, but I just love the quality from blackmagic :D

Thanks for your help,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I recall testing the Xbox with the HyperDeck Shuttle shortly after it became available. I didn't perform any rigorous tests, but it seemed to work just fine. The only thing I think you need to be aware of is that the HDMI out of the Xbox must be set to YCbCr Rec 709 for it to work. RGB output will not look right.

The loop-through output will be much the same as with the Intensity Pro, so virtually no delay between input and output.
