Intensity Pro - Component v RGB

PostThu Nov 29, 2012 11:19 pm

Hello,
I have an Intensity Pro card and I'm a little unsure about Component v RGB input. I have a Sony DXC-390P PAL camera that can output RGB with options to sync on RGB, G or off. Can this be connected to the three intensity component connectors?

I can't just try it and see as I'll need to make up a cable as the camera RGB output is part of a 9-pin D-SUB connector which is why I'm asking first.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

The Intensity Pro will only accept a regular component signal over it's component inputs. RGB will not work. I had a quick look at the specs of the camera, and I think the only connector on the camera you could use is the composite output. Otherwise you would need some kind of active converter to convert the RGB output to component.

Thanks a lot Chris, much appreciated. I'm able to get S-video from the camera and use that with intensity, so I'll have to decide whether to stick with that or get a converter.

Thanks again.
