Ultrastudio Minicapture for Mac screen capture?

I'm looking to grab high quality screen capture sessions off my Macbook Pro (early 2012), and thinking of using the new Ultrastudio Minicapture to do this. Is this possible/feasible?

Some of the considerations:
--I imagine I'd need to get a mini displayport to HDMI adapter to output the video from my Mac, which I would then feed into the Ultrastudio Minicapture for capture onto another machine

--I want to grab audio as well as video

--The resolution I'd be running at is old-fashioned: 1024x768 (the size of the app I want to do the capture session of)

Does this seam feasible? The things I'm wondering about are whether I can feed this resolution out via HDMI, and whether the ultrastudio minicapture will capture this specific resolution. Thanks for any thoughts!

Hi Brad,

It's technically possible to capture from a computer's graphics output, but only with broadcast standard video formats such as 1080i (1920x1080) or 720p (1280x720). Computer resolutions such as 1024x768 will not work.

A Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter should be good for the job. Typically it's possible to capture from a Mac's output, I've never had problems myself, but it's possible that compatibility may vary between Mac systems.
