Intensity Extreme not recognized by my mac mini

PostSun Dec 16, 2012 2:44 pm

My Mac Mini is not recognizing my Intensity Extreme.

I am running Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 9.6.8 and OS X 10.7.5.

I have a Panasonic HMC150 camera connected to the Extreme via HDMI and Thunderbolt to the Mac. The light doesn't come on on the Extreme. In System Information on my Mac the Thunderbolt listing shows no devices connected. It is also not recognized in BMD Desktop Video, or in Media Express.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the BMD software/drivers and that has had no effect.

Have you tried testing the Thunderbolt cable with alternative Thunderbolt devices? Do the other Thunderbolt devices get detected by the Mac Mini? If not, try changing Thunderbolt cables.

Sometimes, you might have to start the device from scratch. So try powering down your Mac, connect the Thunderbolt cable to your Intensity Extreme and fire up your Mac. If it still doesn't detect your device, it might possibly be faulty. Do flag it up with your local BMD support in that case.
