No audio when using HDMI

PostMon Dec 24, 2012 8:31 am

So I had my BMIP installed today, primarily to stream Xbox gameplay to Twitch.tv and to capture Xbox gameplay for commentaries and montages on the computer.

However, after having one successful test stream, I no longer receive audio from my HDMI in to my computer, and there is no audio recognized, either by Black Magic Media Express, or Xsplit.

Is there anyone that could give me some direction on how to go about fixing this? Thanks.

Hi,

The first thing to make sure of is that HDMI audio is selected in your Input preferences (Control Panel->Blackmagic Control Panel->Set Input), there will be two options for HDMI input, allowing you to select between either HDMI video and audio or HDMI and analog audio for input.

Secondly your software should be set to capture audio from the Intensity Pro. How this is done will be down to the software itself.

If you still get nowhere, just as a sanity check I would suggest trying with Media Express. If you are getting audio there, it would suggest that the problem is definitely with the streaming software. If not, it would suggest another setting is wrong, or audio is not getting to the card.
