Is anyone using Intensity Pro cards in a server?

We should have checked first....

We bought a high-end Dell PowerEdge T630 Tower Server to install four cards and unfortunately they don't work in this server.

We really want to use a server with remote management for our system rather than building a desktop.

Is anyone using these cards in a server? Maybe an IBM, Supermicro, HP or Fujitsu?

Thanks,
Justin.

Servers are tricky critters. It may be your server OS and software that is the problem.
Server OS's do not generally support all those cards and their codex's. Sometimes its the Disk Controller, sometimes its the PCI bus.

The best situation is to have the Disk Controller in a good workstation and port the card (mini SAS cables) to the server, and then to the server's Host Bus Adapter, and then to disks.

You may be able to control the Workstation in a virtual way (via a browser), but I'm not familiar with that sort of thing.

Good luck.
